Cambrian

 

Cambrian is a large community that extends over more than four square miles on the west side of San Jose. Also known as Cambrian Park or Cambrian Village, Cambrian has a suburban feel with peaceful neighborhoods featuring classic Californian ranches and other single-family homes. Cambrian offers a great choice of restaurants and cafés and is within easy reach of the many shops, restaurants, and entertainment options of Downtown San Jose. Cambrian is an attractive neighborhood for young families with excellent schools.

 

Cambrian’s dining options include a variety of enticing strip mall restaurants serving Asian fare and other international cuisines. House of Pho and The Happy Hooligans both specialize in Vietnamese cuisine. The menu at House of Pho naturally includes delicious pho and other Vietnamese staples, while the food at The Happy Hooligans is all-vegan with a menu that includes juices, shakes, and sugar-free smoothies. Al Castello Ristorante is an authentic Italian eatery with a wide choice of meat, seafood, and vegetarian pizzas and pasta dishes. Taqueria El Ranchito is the best place in Cambrian for burritos and other flavorful Mexican classics. Other businesses in Cambrian include retailers such as Safeway, Target, Dollar Tree, and The Home Depot as well as independent grocery stores with imported international goods.

 

Residents can enjoy outdoor recreation and relaxation at Houge Park and Branham Park. Houge Park’s amenities include basketball and tennis courts, a horseshoe pit, and a playground. Branham Park also offers a basketball court and a children’s playground as well as a sand volleyball court. Nearby Los Gatos Creek County Park has a lake and dog park.

 

Cambrian is covered by the Union School, Cambrian School, San Jose Unified, and Campbell Union High public school districts. Many local schools boast API scores above 800 or 900.
