Los Gatos

 

Los Gatos is a tranquil Silicon Valley community surrounded by lush mountains in the Santa Cruz foothills. Residents enjoy wealthy suburban living with a vibrant downtown area and access to trails and outdoor recreation. Los Gatos is home to numerous tech companies, including the headquarters of Netflix. This city is one of the oldest communities in Santa Clara County and features well-maintained Victorian homes and buildings. Downtown Los Gatos is a charming historic shopping area with unique independent shops and great restaurants. Celebrated Las Gatos dining establishments include David Kinch’s exquisite tasting menus at Manresa. The exceptional farm-to-table cuisine at Manresa has earned it the rare distinction of three Michelin stars. Sister bakery Manresa Bread offers exceptional freshly-baked breads and pastries. Downtown Los Gatos is also home to the United States’ only Michelin-starred Greek restaurant, Dio Deka. Oak & Rye is a refined Italian bistro serving wood-fired gourmet pizzas, craft cocktails, and delicious small plates.

 

Coup de Thai is a cozy family-run Thai eatery with tasty curries, soups, and noodle dishes. Other local favorites include craft beers and elevated gastropub eats at Loma Brewing Company, superior burgers and shakes at Main Street Burgers, and flavorful Sichuan and Cantonese dishes at Yeung Shing. Other businesses include fashion boutiques, gift shops, art stores, and a Whole Foods Market for organic groceries. There’s also a farmers’ market each Sunday with locally-grown produce, tasty prepared foodstuffs, and live music.

 

Los Gatos offers lots of outdoor recreation space and gorgeous natural scenery. 150-acre Vasona Lake County Park has biking and hiking trails, sports fields, a carousel, playgrounds, and miniature train rides. The park connects to the ten-mile Los Gatos Creek Trail, which runs through San Jose and Campbell. New Museum Los Gatos has galleries, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and youth programs. Los Gatos is zoned in the Los Gatos Union Elementary and Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High public school districts.

 

Most public schools in Santa Clara belong to the Santa Clara Unified school district.
